Headed to Sandia Peak

Wow.. What a view! Eating lunch atop the peak (2 miles up)

Did some shopping in Old Town ABQ.. Dream catchers for all the kiddos

Arrived in Santa Rosa at 17:00

Stayed at Santa Rosa Campground.. Not a bad spot..good food at restaurant

Saw lots of stars with telescope

Quiet night based on late arrival.. We decided to scrub White Sands and Alamogordo due to schedule.

Departed 09:15 Heading to ABQ via Ruidoso and Carrizozo..beautiful drive through the mountains!

Stopped at Valley of Fires for lunch.. The boys liked it a lot! They just love lava and volcanoes.

Gas 64.1 gal / $123.63 / 37437.1 mileage

Arrived 15:00 at Albuquerque North KOA..pretty nice sites and amenities

Saw lots of stars last night.. star charts are amazingly accurate

First stop..Roswell..pretty cheap..value is proportional

Next stop Lincoln and Billy the Kid.. Dads thought it was cool!

Last site of the day was Smokey Bear monument..mildly interesting

Dinner at Farleys Pub in Ruidoso..not bad food..and nice cold beer..people in Ruidoso are driving idiots.

Tried to camp at Seeping Springs in Ruidoso Downs..but was a total hole..ended up at Silver Leaf RV park..much better Arrived 8ish..forgot to check exact time
